18.01.2025 - 19.01.2025, 10:00 - 16:00
We cordially invite you to a two-day workshop 'Massage for Dogs,' which will take place on January 18-19, 2025, in Warsaw.
During the workshop, safe massage techniques that can be implemented at home will be discussed.
We will pay attention to various aspects of caring for a dog's physical condition – including methods of preventing injuries and traumas.
The workshop is dedicated to all dog guardians. Participants do not need to have specialized knowledge about animal physiotherapy.
The workshop will consist of two parts – theoretical (Saturday, a lecture for all event participants) and practical (individual sessions for participants with dogs under the supervision of experienced animal physiotherapists – Katarzyna Skoczylas-Żychska and Anna Misior-Mąka).
SATURDAY - Topics discussed in the theoretical part:
1. Definition of massage and its impact on the dog's body;
2. Why and when to do massage? How can it affect the dog's condition?
3. Indications / contraindications;
4. Massage as an element of recovery and injury prevention in dogs (not just sports dogs);
5. How to maintain the body in good condition and tissue balance, including understanding reactions such as discomfort/pain, sensing subcutaneous changes, joint injuries before lameness appears.
6. Massage for older dogs with degenerative disease and comorbidities;
7. Presentation of massage techniques on a demonstration dog.
SUNDAY - Practical individual sessions.
For each participant with a dog, we have planned a 75-minute practical session on massage techniques with a dog under the supervision of one of the physiotherapists leading the workshop. The scope and technique applied during the practical session will be tailored to the condition, age, and capabilities of each participant. A maximum of 2 dogs will work in the room at the same time.
The practice will take place in an adapted training room at Stanisława Kulczyńskiego 14 in Warsaw.
