During the guided tour by Dr. Barbara Banasik of the exhibition 'Colors of Holi,' we will jointly ponder: Is art for viewing or for feeling? And is there a proper way to engage with art?
This time we will try to experience the exhibition 'Colors of Holi' a bit differently – we will explore it not only from the perspective of art history, but we will also consider how it functions in its original context, in India.
Using various means of expression and curatorial strategies, the exhibition 'Colors of Holi' brings closer the visual and cultural landscape of Mithila; it presents the history and social context of Mithila painting. It engages all the senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch, proprioception) to prepare visitors for strong aesthetic experiences and invites them to meet art with intense colors and vivid forms.
Participation in the tour is free after purchasing an entrance ticket to the museum (20 PLN regular, 12 PLN reduced).
