The best comedy this autumn at a special pre-premiere screening with a discussion after the show!
On November 14 (Thursday), at 8:00 PM at Kino Muranów, there will be a pre-premiere screening of a film that has already become a sensation. It won the Audience Award at Sundance and was nominated as Ireland's candidate for the Oscar.
🎧 “Kneecap. The Hip-hop Revolution” is a crazy comedy about boys from the housing estates who have overdosed on their mother tongue. Director Rich Peppiatt, like the best DJ, skillfully mixes facts with pure fiction, while the real-life rappers playing themselves are joined on screen by Michael Fassbender.
Liam and Naoise always find a way to have a good time in English-occupied Belfast, sell drugs, mock the enemy, or evade the overzealous police. And on top of that, they rap in Irish, on an island where more people even know... Polish. When JJ, an unfulfilled music teacher, unexpectedly joins them, hip-hop in Irish becomes a form of political protest for this trio. Thus, a phenomenon of a film was born, heating up cinema halls like club dance floors. The fight for national linguistic identity is intertwined here with a drug high, and a good party – with a true mission. This cinematic energy bomb is a tribute to musical and cinematic rebels. “Trainspotting” meets “8 Mile,” “Snatch” pokes fun at “Hunger,” and Fassbender – at himself.
🎤 After the screening, we invite you to a meeting featuring: Mateusz Płocha and Szymon Żurawski (Samiec Beta) and Typowy Jędrzej.
