The backdrop for the action of the novel is the parks, streets, tenements, and churches of Warsaw. Prus immortalized the image of Warsaw at the turn of the 70s and 80s of the 19th century.
If someone hasn't read the book or doesn't remember its content, they will not be disappointed either.
During the walk, we will learn among other things:
-Where did Wokulski meet Izabela?
-Where was the opening of the new store celebrated?
-Why did Aleksander Głowacki come to Warsaw?
-Where did the old Mincel have his shop?
-What inspired Prus?
-Why does the monument to the author of the novel stand on Krakowskie Przedmieście?
-Who was once the only companion of Copernicus?
-What did Wokulski dream of?
-Did Bolesław Prus show us the true Warsaw?
-What connects the author of the book with its main character?
We invite you to a walk in the footsteps of the characters and events of one of the most 'Warsaw' novels.
We will meet on September 22 at 11:00 under the monument of Jan Kiliński at Podwale. We will conclude the walk around 12:30 in the vicinity of Nowy Świat.
The walk will be led by historian and Warsaw city guide, Adrian Sobieszczański.
