Ostaniec, a word commonly used in urban settings, especially in large, old cities, originally means a rock. A solitary rock exposed as a result of the erosion of the surrounding areas. A rock that witnesses what once happened geologically in this area.
Warsaw is a city rich in urban outcrops. Some are renovated, others still waiting for their turn....
Although silent, standing among the post-war buildings of the streets and 19th-century structures, they whisper their own stories about people and past events.
I invite you for a walk among selected outcrops of Warsaw's Wola. Their past and present.
What is this walk about❓
We will learn:
📍Where the bulb factory of a well-known foreign company existed in Wola.
