    About the event

Somatic movement class cycle in the Body-Mind Centering® approach | Day group | October - December 2025 “Body-Mind Centering is an experiential journey into the living and changing territory of the body. It is a creative process in which we listen to tissues, cells, bones, fluids, organs, breath – and allow them to guide us.” — Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, founder of BMC Body-Mind Centering® (BMC) is a somatic approach (SOMA - living body) that explores how movement and awareness are rooted in the direct experience of the body. It is a process in which anatomical, physiological, and developmental knowledge supports multidimensional being in one's own body. BMC is the study of experiencing oneself through movement, touch, breath, directing attention, witnessing oneself, and how living life manifests through the body. These classes focus on MOVEMENT – on exploring organic movement that arises from the quality and specificity of tissues and organs. During the anatomical introduction, we look at images, draw on scientific and traditional knowledge, and enrich our understanding of the topic. Then we embody this knowledge, bring it into movement, observe sensations, recognize qualities, rhythms, pulsations – WE FEEL OUR LIVING BODY. The cycle includes exploration of the basic body systems, we will delve into: - bones (with special attention to the spine) - joints - fascia - ligaments - muscles - heart and circulatory system - lungs and breath - nervous system The program is designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge about the body. What is it like to feel your bony structure in movement? How do my bones dance? How does the gliding of fascia support my body's mobility? How do my joints move when I am attentive to the fluidity of synovial fluid? What do I feel when I hear my heart? How can I be inspired by the vitality of blood flow? And many other explorations that lead to deepening body awareness, grounding in movement, and are – often – simply relaxing. The body finds its way to pleasant, nourishing movement; you don't have to push or force yourself, movement simply happens. These classes are for you if: - you want to deepen body awareness - you feel you are often "in your head" and want to be "in your body" more often - you feel tightness, stress, and tension in your body - you practice movement, dance, martial arts and want deeper grounding in your body - you work with the body and want to deepen and embody your knowledge about it - you are interested in your own anatomy, rooted in sensation - you experience mobility limitations, freezing in the body – after injuries, illnesses, due to age - you want to strengthen/build a supportive relationship with your body - you need time and attention FOR YOURSELF If you work with the body/movement (massage, physiotherapy, dance, yoga, pilates, martial arts, fitness) – these classes will be an opportunity to deepen and embody anatomical knowledge as well as to develop movement. BMC strengthens the connection with the body on a very deep level, which translates into a new quality in every physical activity. The classes are gentle, but you won't be bored. The classes have a gentle dynamic and offer plenty of space to adjust the pace and intensity of movement to your own needs. I invite people with varying degrees of mobility; the classes are a good opportunity to explore movement possibilities in the face of health limitations: injuries, body stiffness, advanced age, chronic tensions. What we do in class: - Deepen knowledge about our body – on many levels - Nourish the body with movement, make joints more flexible, oxygenate organs - Shift attention from thoughts to the body, strengthening the ability to be in contact with the body - Regulate tensions in the body: overloaded areas release, frozen areas activate - Regulate the nervous and hormonal systems, bringing calm and space to the body, lowering stress levels - Give ourselves space to feel ourselves – physically and emotionally - Build a supportive relationship with ourselves, grounded in tissues and organs - Expand our ability to express ourselves in movement ℹ️ Organizational information 📍 Studio42, ul. Somatic practitioner – Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Educator, BMC® Somatic Movement Practitioner in training, Living Somatics Movement Teacher (Ingle Institute for Somatic Education), completed the Somatic Psychology program at The Brook Institute I have been leading somatic movement classes since 2019. Mover, dancer – I have always danced, since 2002 I regularly practiced contemporary dance, classical ballet, improvisation, Movement Medicine, and other dance-movement genres, seeking approaches where FEELING movement is a priority. Now, as a mature woman, I choose for myself the path of organic movement that arises from the needs of tissues, bones, joints, fascia, muscles, organs. Somatic body awareness through movement is my life practice. A practice that supports my body physically and keeps me in good shape on all levels. Bodyworker, somatic bodywork practitioner, Holistic Pulsing, Thai massage, Wuo Tai. I work with the body through touch individually and introduce mindful touch during group workshops. I explore the psychological and physical aspects of touch and its personal conditions and potential. I am fascinated by the body, somatics, and the path of self-discovery through movement. Over the years, I observe how practicing somatics leads to living to one's full potential. REVIEWS "authenticity, safety, and curiosity." Agata "...It's wonderful to physically absorb somatic knowledge, relax, but also move what seemed immovable. The physically felt awareness of wonderful processes that I develop in class helps me make healthier decisions for myself. My tenderness for the smallest particles of my organism grows, and thus self-acceptance, which translates into increasing fascination with the inseparability of body and psyche. Nowhere before have I liked my fat so much and felt the softness of my bones." Kasia "...here there really is space for extremely different energies – in one room – one person can jump – and another lie down – and it happens simultaneously – a bit like a plant – at the same time roots grow down, and branches up to the sky. The body leads (and Nadia helps you hear it)." Justyna Sign up to receive more information: https://bit.ly/sesje_somatyczne
