    About the event

    On September 17 at 6:00 PM at the "Czechowice" Branch, there will be an author evening with Sylwia Chutnik – one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary Polish literature and cultural life. 📚 The meeting will take place as part of the "Czechowice" Branch's Book Discussion Club and is funded by the Book Institute. 👩‍🎓 Sylwia Chutnik - Born in 1979 in Warsaw. Doctor of Humanities. By education, a cultural studies specialist, graduate of Gender Studies at the University of Warsaw and Polish-Jewish Studies at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. - Writer, columnist, social activist, and promoter of literature. - Member of the Literary Union Association. - Curator of literary festivals and initiatives (International Literary Festival Apostrof, Literary Café OFF Festival, discussions, and author meetings). - Lecturer at the University of Warsaw and SWPS University, as well as at the writing school Maszyna do Pisania. - Columnist for "Polityka," "Czas Literatury," and many online portals. - Co-hosted literary programs "Cappuccino with a Book" and "Forgotten – Recovered" on TVP Kultura, as well as "Literary Den." - Her texts have appeared in collective books and in many catalogs for contemporary art exhibitions and theater programs (including the Grand Theatre – National Opera, Bunkier Sztuki Gallery, Nobel Museum in Stockholm). - Publishes guest articles in Polish and international press. Her academic texts have been included in over 25 studies and collective books. - Recipient of scholarships such as Homines Urbani 2008, Books from Lithuania Institute 2009, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage 2010, City of Warsaw 2010, Goethe Institute 2010. 🏆 Winner of literary and social awards. - Serves on the Olga Rok Award Committee, the Civic Committee for "Polityka" Scientific Awards, and the Feminoteka Foundation Council. - Was the vocalist of the punk band Zimny Maj. 🎙️ Hosts the podcast Radio Sylwia, Elgiebete TV, and the show "Pink Bangs Corner" on Radio Nowy Świat.
