About the event

Do you do caregiving work?

We invite you to a networking meeting and the launch of a toolkit created as part of the European Schools of Care project.

The toolkit contains scenarios for group and individual activities aimed at regeneration and psychophysical strengthening. All of them focus on caring for others and for oneself. It is a collection intended for people who face caregiving challenges in their work and daily life and who practice care.

Who is the event for?

  • People caring for persons with disabilities: parents, siblings, people working in institutions and NGOs, animators, educators, personal assistants, staff of social care homes, therapists.
  • People who want to learn new tools for working with groups, reflect on the role of care in private and public contexts, and meet others dealing with similar issues.

What will the meeting look like?

  • Presentation of the toolkit — a deck of cards with exercises for individual work and community work.
  • Workshop part: participants will test selected exercises.

When: 19 April, 11:00–14:00
Where: Inclusive Art Centre / Theater 21, ul. Skoczylasa 10/12, Warsaw
Registration: via Google form until 5 April: formularz Google

We will send individual confirmation of participation by 10 April — participation is free of charge.

During the meeting we provide care for people with disabilities — please indicate this need in the registration form.

After the meeting we invite you for coffee, snacks and conversations.

Facilitators: Zuzanna Berendt, Anna Majewska and people involved in creating the Schools of Care project.

What are the Schools of Care? The international European Schools of Care project was created in response to the need for alternative educational practices — inclusive, feminist and empathetic. The project develops grassroots educational platforms in partner countries: Greece, Germany and Poland. For nearly two years workshops and labs took place in which local communities tested and practiced learning methods based on embodied knowledge and rooted in care practices. The aim was to value this type of knowledge — embodied, relational and grassroots.
