7th International Festival of Central and Eastern European Music Eufonie "Afterglows and Afterimages" 🎵 November 13 – December 7, 2025 We invite you to the concert "Passion: Penderecki", dedicated to the memory of Elżbieta Penderecka, who passed away on October 31 this year. This event accompanies the 7th edition of the Eufonie Festival. Composed in 1966, the St. Luke Passion is one of the most important achievements of 20th-century music. Although it was created in the specific context of the millennium of Christianity in communist Poland, it rises above temporary circumstances, turning towards universal questions. It is a monumental sound drama in which Penderecki – a master of intricately woven musical images – depicted human suffering and condition, creating a moving portrait of human nature. _____________________ Concert program: Krzysztof Penderecki (1933–2020) - St. Luke Passion _____________________ Performers: - Choir and Orchestra of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Krakow - Polish Radio Choir – Lusławice - Krakow Philharmonic Boys' Choir - Ukrainian Children's Choir of the Krakow Philharmonic - Maciej Tworek – conductor - Iwona Hossa – soprano - Mariusz Godlewski – baritone - Artur Janda – bass - Krzysztof Gosztyła – narrator - Janusz Wierzgacz – preparation of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic Choir in Krakow - Dawid Ber – preparation of the Polish Radio Choir – Lusławice - Lidia Matynian – preparation of the Krakow Philharmonic Boys' Choir - Olena Yatskulynets – preparation of the Ukrainian Children's Choir of the Krakow Philharmonic _____________________ 🎫 Tickets: - https://www.nck.bilety24.pl - and at the box office of the National Philharmonic. ℹ️ You can find the detailed festival program on the website of the National Centre for Culture: - https://nck.pl/projekty-kulturalne/projekty/festiwal-eufonie/program-i-bilety Organizers: National Centre for Culture, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Patron: ORLEN Strategic partner: Totalizator Sportowy The festival is a member of the International Festivals & Events Association.
