7th International Festival of Central and Eastern European Music Eufonie "Afterglows and Afterimages" 🎵 November 13 – December 7, 2025 We invite you to the concert "Messengers: Bach / Schubert / Čiurlionis", which will take place on November 27, 2025 at the National Philharmonic as part of the 7th Eufonie Festival. The evening will open with the String Quartet in C minor by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis – a Lithuanian artist who intertwined music and painting into a single narrative. His Quartet combines classical outer movements with an expressive middle section, whose melancholic melody unfolds against a chromatic-rich accompaniment. Next, Bach's Concerto in D minor BWV 1052 will be performed – full of vitality, with brilliant dialogues between the soloist and orchestra, and a moody Adagio in the middle movement. To conclude, we will hear the String Quartet in D minor "Death and the Maiden" by Franz Schubert – a dramatic dialogue between life and death, whose final tarantella evokes the "dance of death". ____________________ Concert program: - Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis: String Quartet in C minor (arrangement: Vilhelmas Čepinskis, 2022) - Johann Sebastian Bach: Concerto in D minor BWV 1052 - Franz Schubert: String Quartet in D minor Death and the Maiden (arrangement: Gustav Mahler) ____________________ Performers: - Lukas Geniušas – piano - Lithuanian National Chamber Orchestra - Sergei Krylov – conductor ____________________ 🎫 Tickets: - https://nck.bilety24.pl - and at the National Philharmonic box office. ℹ️ You can find the detailed festival program on the National Centre for Culture website: - https://nck.pl/projekty-kulturalne/projekty/festiwal-eufonie/program-i-bilety Organizers: National Centre for Culture, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Patron: ORLEN Strategic Partner: Totalizator Sportowy The festival is a member of the International Festivals & Events Association.
