    About the event

The meadows are rustling, the forests are rustling, as the next edition of the Art Generations project is coming soon! Art Generations is above all: - an artistic and social adventure - intergenerational meetings - creative work - improvisations - an amazing atmosphere We invite all adults to participate in the next edition, which will begin with workshop work in February and end with performances of the jointly developed spectacle at the end of April. What awaits us this year? "Do you remember when you lifted your head from the forest, To call me Meadow one evening? Once called by name I looked at myself in the stream - And since then I recognize myself among the rest of the expanse." Bolesław Leśmian, beginning of the poem "Meadow." And you? When was the last time you walked in the forest? Walked barefoot in a meadow? Melted into the view of the vastness of the ocean or the panorama of the mountains? Contemplated the veins of a tree leaf in the park or watched the soft movements of a cat? In the face of all the events that nature brings us, we want to ask: what does nature give us? Can we experience it? Do we "connect" with it or do we just "use" it? Maybe we should cooperate with it; with its cycles, variability, or maybe we are part of it? Do we come from it, "melt" into it, "recharge our batteries" thanks to it, or just as well - do we cut ourselves off from it to live safely and predictably thanks to the achievements of civilization? Or maybe nature - with its immensity, amorality, randomness, and aimlessness - is completely beyond the categories of human cognition? Can biology find a common language with culture? What is my relationship with nature? We have many questions about nature, and we believe you do too. To get as close to nature as possible, we will start our work with a trip to the forest near Warsaw. We will enter the forest. We will immerse ourselves in it. We will observe it and experience not only its silence but also its rhythm, movement-stillness, smell, sound, and light. Together we will see what the forest brings us. We will explore this in a safe atmosphere, and then we will start creating more conscious improvisations and etudes - to watch them and share our impressions. This will lead us to formulate thoughts and questions, which in the next creative steps will slowly become the leading themes of our group's work. And in turn, they will determine the themes and forms of the spectacle. How to find a way to create "artificial" art about nature... Is it even possible...? We will use bodywork and choreography, experiments with silence, voice and sound, activities with photography, video, and combining live image with projection. We will reach for work with text, creating poetry and word collages. Who is Art Generations for? - Literally - for everyone! We do not require any skills, talents, experience, or fitness. We meet to discover these abilities and talents within ourselves. This happens in a safe atmosphere, a culture of consent, and respect for one's limitations, e.g., physical fitness, etc. - What is important to us is openness and acceptance of diversity. The project has been led for years by: - Aldona Żejmo-Kudelska - co-creator and leader of Art Generations, loves the forest, meadow, and nature. - Adam Gąsecki - co-creator of Art Generations, actor, performer, author of many participatory theater activities, theater director. ✨ The open meeting about the new edition will take place on January 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the ŁOWICKA Center, room no. 8. 📝 Registration for the project will open in January. Follow our profile to not miss the form. Number of places is limited. 💸 Participation in the project is free of charge. The project is co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
