Registrations have opened for workshops by the legendary Czech documentary theatre Archa – Centrum Theatre of Documentary.
We invite you to participate in a documentary theatre project that combines authentic testimonies with theatrical imagination.
- Three-day workshops: 20–22 March.
- Friday: 17:00–20:00
- Saturday: 10:00–17:00
- Sunday: 10:00–17:00
- Location: Teatr Komuna Warszawa, Warsaw.
- Workshops will be free for selected participants.
Designed for:
- Artists working in visual arts, dance, music, literature or other fields.
- Students of Slavic studies and other disciplines interested in their own artistic practice or wanting to learn documentary theatre methods.
Starting point and outcome:
- The starting point of the project is the person and work of Václav Havel (this year he would have celebrated his 90th birthday).
- The result of the research and artistic work will be the production of a documentary-theatre performance directed by Jana Svobodová.

Workshop format:
- Workshops take place in two studios: the documentary theatre studio and the video art studio.
- The practices of both studios are intended for all participants.
- Participants will get acquainted with the group improvisation format based on the “Angles of View” methodology and with methods of creating video art and using it as an independent stage language.

Working methods:
- We work in a form of “co-creation”, devising.
- The ArchaDoku artistic team works in an “open studio” format where participants create their own stage material.
