Basia Bulat will play three concerts in Poland! The Canadian songwriter of Polish descent will perform on April 21 at Alchemia in Kraków, April 22 at BARdzo Bardzo in Warsaw, and April 23 at Nietota in Wrocław.
The Montreal-based artist has long captivated audiences with her distinctive voice and sensitivity, where classic folk meets gospel depth and soulful expression. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, ukulele, bass, charango) she creates a warm, emotional sound. Her work has been widely recognized — she has been nominated three times for the Polaris Music Prize and five times for the JUNO Awards. Audiences fell in love with her from her debut album “Oh, My Darling” (2007). She has performed alongside St. Vincent, Sufjan Stevens and Nick Cave, and has appeared on NPR Tiny Desk Concerts as well as on Stephen Colbert and Jools Holland. She often visits Poland — in 2011 she played at Torwar in Warsaw supporting Arcade Fire, and in 2016 she appeared on the Off Festival stage.
In February 2025 she released her latest album “Basia’s Palace” — the most intimate and searching record in her catalogue. The material was created at night in a home setting and co-created with producer Mark Lawson; mixing was handled by Tucker Martin (collaborations include The National and Beth Orton). It’s an album where dreamy electronics meet folk storytelling, and live performances become a personal, almost magical experience.
