About the event

The universe of "Lalka" resembles a magnificent collection of old photographs. Slightly powdered, unreal, where recreating daily relationships becomes risky. B. Prus takes us through Warsaw in the years 1878 and 79, through opulent palaces, theater boxes, shops full of goods, churches, fragrant gardens, crumbling huts, and piles of garbage. We strike our heels on the cobblestones of Krakowskie Przedmieście, long dresses gather the scent of the street, our eyes search for Wokulski's frostbitten hands from Siberia and gloves in size five and three-quarters for Miss Łęcka. The era of Romanticism is replaced by pragmatic Positivism. In these realities, Stach conducts business, goes to races and walks in the Avenues, browses newspapers, eats beefsteaks, loves, and suffers.
