Artistic workshops with intermedia artist Mateusz Kowalczyk.
How bold is it today to talk about your neurodiversity at work? How does the possibility of working under certain conditions define our well‑being and more broadly redefine the notion of labor rights?
We live in a culture of concrete expectations and measurable results, where our individual needs often take a back seat. I invite people living in Wola and Kole to an intimate meeting around the topic of neurodiversity in the workplace.
Our starting point for conversation will be a prototype of a banner created with inspiration from an interwar workers’ banner from the 1930s. With the main slogan “Needs Above Expectations,” I open a space to discuss experiences related to work of us—adult neurodivergent people. Together, in a relaxed atmosphere, we will embellish the banner with sequins and colorful elements, creating a symbolic visual gesture. Let’s treat this as an excuse to meet and exchange experiences of adult neurodivergent people. You can also simply come, listen, and do nothing. Please bring your favorite stimming objects.
Mateusz Kowalczyk — intermedia artist, born 1992 in Warsaw. Graduate of the Faculty of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; currently a doctoral student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Member of the international research team EMOROB and the collective Biuro Usług Postartystycznych.
Scena Robotnicza is a place for intimate presentations of works on the border of performative events and workshops. Monthly theatrical and pedagogical events that are on one hand experimental, and on the other invite participation. Activities take place in Kole, in the Dom Społeczny, which is part of a prewar housing experiment from the mid‑1930s — the modernist TOR estate built for workers of Warsaw factories.
