    About the event

Polyphony: Are We Living in the Best Possible World?

    📅 26.02 / Thursday / 18:00–19:30
📍 Fort Sokolnickiego, ul. Czarnieckiego 51
    🎟️ free entry

    Guest: Dr Iwo Zmyślony
    Host: Łukasz Strzelczyk

We live in times of permanent poli-crises, with change constantly accelerating — how can we talk and think about the future without falling into catastrophism and apathy? Is it time for new utopias and visions of a sustainable, comprehensible future? The topic of our meeting will be contemporary utopias — do we need new narratives in a world of poli-crises? The starting point will be the condition of the postmodern world and its anxieties examined through the lens of the anthropology of new technologies. The guest will be Dr Iwo Zmyślony, who for nearly 10 years has studied the relationships between technology and social change (degrowth, AI in utopian and dystopian worlds, etc.).

Wielogłos is a series of foresight meetings with scientists and researchers, and specialists. The meetings address the most important trends and phenomena that determine our lives, both locally and individually, and globally and socially.

Dr Iwo Zmyślony, a specialist in general intelligence and non-automatable future competencies. He earned his doctorate with a dissertation on creativity in the empirical sciences (know-how, tacit knowledge). He lectures, among others, at the University of Warsaw and in postgraduate programs at Łazarski University and Korczak University. He is a trainer and business advisor at the ICAN Institute, where he conducts trainings including critical thinking and neuroleadership. Author of the podcast 'Limity AI' available on MIT Sloan Management Review Polska channels.

Łukasz Strzelczyk, cultural manager / strategist / curator. Trained as a sociologist, researcher of contemporary culture. He creates strategies, sets artistic directions, and moves fluidly between micro-histories of locality and global trends. He co-created transformations of Warsaw institutions (Teatr Rampa, Wolski Cultural Centre, Dom Kultury Kadr). Co-founder of the Third Wave Association. Publisher and producer of records with Polish archival avant-garde music from the 1970s, author of numerous popular and academic texts on sound art and art in public space.
