The Sleeping Bookstore and Antiquarian Zakładka invite you to a meeting titled 𝙒𝙖𝙧 𝙋𝙤𝙚𝙢𝙨 𝘿𝙄𝙁𝙁𝙀𝙍𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙇𝙔. 📖 Piotr Mitzner will talk about the creation of a new anthology of Polish poetry from the war years 1939-1945. 🎭 Poems will be read by: - Poet and literary historian Piotr Mitzner - Actress and performer Jolanta Rosa 🎵 Music: Tomasz Januchta (double bass). "We think about war because it is happening just beyond our border. We read poems from the years of that war. Most often, we return to a few poets, but it is worth looking wider and deeper. To discover forgotten poets, to hear the lost voices of women and men. To hear in them our own anxieties, emotions, and revelations. To feel the rhythm of life defying death. Because every written stanza is a victory" - Piotr Mitzner. The project was created thanks to the financial support of the City of Warsaw and the Old Town Cultural Center and accompanies the competition for Warsaw's Favorite Bookstore.
