About the event

Workshops: Milestones of an Infant's Psychomotor Development – What a Speech Therapist MUST Know

Leader: Magdalena Czajkowska

  • 17 January 2026
  • 17 October 2026

Description: We invite you to a one-day workshop during which, on mats, we will go together through the successive months of an infant's development. Step by step we will analyze aspects related to the lack of QUALITY of individual milestones and link them to the development of oral motor competencies. Increasing numbers of newborns and infants are referred to speech therapy clinics each year, and therapists increasingly undertake early speech therapy intervention. Without understanding the mechanisms of large motor development at each stage of psychomotor development, it will not be possible to see the broader picture of small oral motor problems.

In the workshop we will discuss, among others:

  • assessment of the quality of milestones (not only their occurrence)
  • mechanisms of sucking difficulties (first 3 months)
  • milestones important for introducing complementary feeding (6th, 8th–10th month)

The number, but above all the QUALITY of an infant's milestones — the devil is in the details.

For whom:

  • speech therapists
  • neurologopedists
  • physiotherapists
  • osteopaths

Cost:

  • Course fee: 700 zł
  • Entry fee: 300 zł/person payable when applying for the course (entry fee is non-refundable in case of withdrawal)
  • Number of places: limited
