Polish retro dances from the first half of the 20th century are once again captivating the young and bringing nostalgia to the older generation. In the past, when it was warm, these dances were performed on wooden outdoor dance floors, commonly called DECHY. When it got colder, dance parties and dancing events moved to pubs, cafes, and restaurants. During our October weekly workshops, we will learn the basic steps of FOXTROT, SLOW FOX, and WALCZYK. We will dance to old melodies from courtyards and urban alleys, radio and cinema hits from crackling gramophone records, as well as melodies "in the old style" currently recorded by contemporary bands practicing pre-war music, including: Warszawskie Combo Taneczne, Warszawska Orkiestra Sentymentalna, Kapela NICPONIE, and Mała Orkiestra Dancingowa. During our workshops, you will refine your steps and learn the rules of non-stage forms of traditional dance performed at dance parties, so that dancing brings you as much joy and pleasure as possible. Our workshops can be treated as dance practice or fitness classes, where we will meet new people, spend time in a pleasant atmosphere, and get rid of unnecessary calories to the sounds of Polish traditional music. The workshops will include rhythmic exercises that will help you develop a sense of rhythm, improve motor coordination, strengthen physical fitness, and give your dance movements strength, fluidity, and lightness. It will also be a great source of inspiration, fun, and a pleasant way to spend free time with fantastic people who attend our workshops. It will also be an opportunity to meet interesting people, which will help you quickly find a dance partner for any occasion where traditional music is played. 👨🏫 WHO IS LEADING - Piotr Zgorzelski 👥 FOR WHOM - Basic level +1/+2 📅 WHEN - October 2/9/16/30 (Thursday) - Time: 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM 💰 COST To participate in our meetings, you need to sign up for the entire cycle, which includes 4 sessions. - SUPER PROMOTION for 4 sessions (payment by September 9): - 120 PLN per person (paired) - 140 PLN per person - II PROMOTION fee for 4 sessions (payment by September 16): - 140 PLN per person (paired) - 160 PLN per person - STANDARD fee for 4 sessions (payment after September 16): - 160 PLN per person (paired) - 180 PLN per person 📍 WHERE The workshops are currently held at Tomasz Potocki Dance Academy in Nowolipki. - Address: ul.
