About the event

No places available.

Thank you for your interest. The next workshop with Martyna Kielesińska is on March 28 at 12:00.

We invite you to a shared, creative encounter with contemporary art and mass culture. The workshop will be led by Martyna Kielesińska – a visual artist and educator whose works can be seen in the exhibition “Thank you for my work”.

The starting point for practical activities and discussion will be a new work from the Bunkier Sztuki Collection: Iwona Demko’s piece “Pan domu czyli Man in Action” – an artistic intervention on an Action Man figurine addressing stereotypes related to gender and cultural roles assigned to women and men.

During the workshop we will also look at the collages of Richard Hamilton, a British artist who analyzed the influence of mass culture, advertising and consumption on contemporary life. Using cutouts from magazines and promotional materials, he created compositions showing how media and everyday objects shape our ideas about home, lifestyle and social roles.

You are invited to create your own collage, which will become an artistic attempt to challenge established images of home, family and daily duties. The workshop takes the form of an open conversation combined with creative activity, in an atmosphere of freedom, without judgement and without imposing ready-made interpretations.

Workshop aims:

  • develop the ability to consciously interpret images and visual messages
  • introduce children to issues of contemporary art (collage, ready-made, artistic intervention)
  • reflect on stereotypes present in popular culture
  • foster openness and critical thinking
  • develop creativity and creative working skills

For whom: adults, youth and families with children
Registration: registration
Price: 20 zł per participant (children up to 7 years: 5 zł)
