Join us for an immersive movement workshop that simulates a rave — but instead of a classic club dancefloor, we’ll dive into conscious, somatic dance. Contemporary dance and improvisation as tools for exploring movement, rhythm, and relationships. Somatic approach – listening to the body, its needs, impulses, and boundaries. Playing with rhythms – surrendering to the groove, exploring tension and release in the body. Movement dialogue – with each other, with the music, with the space. Sense of community – we create a safe, open atmosphere for exploration and trance. Each of us becomes part of this shared, embodied musical landscape. Moving individually and as a group, we’ll explore weight, flow, and energy. Stillness and momentum, pulse and silence — all become part of our dance. This workshop is an invitation to deeply inhabit your body, music, and movement — together. Whether you’ve been dancing for years or are just starting out – this is a space for everyone. Step into rave-like trance with us. Feel, move, connect. “Somatic” comes from the Greek word sōma, meaning body. In the context of dance, therapy, or bodywork, a somatic approach means: - consciously sensing the body from within, listening to its signals, impulses, tensions, and needs, - movement arising from within, not from external forms or choreography. In a somatic approach: - it’s not about how something looks, but how it feels, - mindfulness, presence, and contact with the body here and now are important, - the body is treated as wise, intuitive, and full of information – not just as a “tool.” This is often used in practices such as: contact improvisation, bodywork, yoga, Feldenkrais, BMC (Body-Mind Centering), Gaga, and many contemporary dance forms. Increasingly, the concept of rave goes beyond club parties – it’s used metaphorically, e.g. in movement workshops that recreate its atmosphere: trance, community, and intense connection with music and the body. In this new, broader sense, rave becomes a bodily, spiritual, and communal experience, which can take place in a dance studio, gallery, forest, yoga, or even somatic workshops. It’s a space of collective trance, freedom, and intense experience of music, movement, and community. In this new approach, rave is not just music and dance – it’s a state that can be recreated through: - trance rhythm – leading the body to natural, uninhibited movement, - conscious dance – as a form of personal expression and connection with oneself, - community – a sense of belonging, resonating with the group, even without words, - presence – being here and now, without judgment, in flow, - ritual – repetition, intensity, emotionality of movement.
