The main topic will be the genocide of the Roma community. The workshops show how to use individual stories to help students understand complex historical events and contemporary social phenomena, dispel stereotypes and lead conversations about memory, prejudice and responsibility.
During the sessions we will focus on how art becomes a language for telling the experience of the Holocaust. We will also discuss how the Roma community today overcomes prejudices. An important part of the meeting will be the presentation of an interactive worksheet about Ceija Stojka — an artist and Holocaust survivor who told stories of memory and trauma through her art.
