Warsaw: Embroidering Words - Letter Embroidery Workshop
About the event
You're invited to one of our favorite workshops! We'll learn different types of stitches used for lettering, embroidering on fabrics with beautiful patterns.
You will receive many practical tips and learn 5–6 versatile stitches that will let you embroider any letters, which can later become part of your hoop embroidery, shirt or cushion.
Besides learning stitches, I also care about conversation and meeting: meeting you with me, participants with each other, your hand with your head, thread with fabric. We'll chat like in a city housewives' circle.
The result of our work will be a hoop with colorful fabric and words important to you embroidered on it. You can hang it on the wall or give it to someone close.
WHO IS IT FOR?
- For everyone – from beginners to those who want to refresh their embroidery knowledge and have a pleasant time.
- Planned number of participants: 8–10.
WHO AM I?
Gosia Samborska – embroidery artist, AI trainer, embroidery teacher. For five years she taught embroidery at the Złote Rączki Embroidery School founded by Monika Drożyńska; for three years she has been running workshops independently.

Embroidery for me is hand yoga, a kind of moving meditation. It is also a form of contemporary activism, analogue guerrilla action. We live in a world of forced productivity, where efficiency and speed matter more than precision and deeper understanding. I love embroidery for its slow pace, for teaching patience and focus, which through its physicality and tangibility gives an immediate sense of agency. I believe its subversive potential of gentleness and empathy is what we need now.
