ABOUT THE PROJECT:

A STORY ABOUT BOUNDARIES is our voice on understanding personal boundaries in everyday life and relationships. As a group composed of people of various ages and experiences, we examine boundaries in the context of crossing and respecting them, and also in the context of education — how school and upbringing shape societal approaches to crossing personal boundaries, often enabling and sanctioning violent practices.

At the center of our interest are primarily children and women. The child — perceived as common property — often has no possibility to defend their own needs or dignity. As women we often cross our own boundaries, overextending ourselves and sacrificing for others.

The topic of boundaries is slowly being noticed by the youngest generations and personal territory seems to be expanding. Questions arise: what if my boundaries violate another person's boundaries? How to judge whose boundaries are more important? And by setting boundaries against everyone and everything — do we still have a chance to experience closeness? Where is the limit to setting boundaries? Or maybe it isn't needed at all?

The latest Jeszcze Theatre production is not only a story about boundaries, but also about our society, customs, tradition and families. And about ourselves.

Jeszcze Theatre is a group made up of Warsaw teachers and educational institution staff. The group has been active for five years within the Warsaw Centre for Educational and Social Innovation and Training. In 2022 it produced the play “My, ludzie pandemiczni”, performed at Teatr Stara Prochownia in Warsaw, and in 2023 the play “HierarchJA”, performed at the Capital Centre for Cultural Education and shown as part of the Intergenerational Theatrical Meetings RELACJE 2023 in Stalowa Wola. In 2024 another play — WIĘZY — about intergenerational trauma, was staged at the MDK “Łazienkowska” stage. The play met with a very emotional reception, and a special performance took place at the Museum of Polish History. The following year the group prepared the play DRUGA ZMIANA, with shows held at the Bielańskie Centre for Cultural Education stage.

The group addresses contemporary social topics, implements the ideas of participatory theatre, and its productions are the result of collective creative work.
