Based on the multiple-award-winning, bold and intensely erotic prose of Małgorzata Żarów, the play reveals spaces usually hidden — the digital ones where the body becomes a commodity, and the urban ones where loneliness becomes especially acute.
The protagonist, a woman working as a CamGirl, leads us through rented apartments, stairwells, streets and night transport stops. Along the way she meets Ramona - an amateur fortune-teller, Stefan - a porn actor and Magda - a friend from earlier times.
Warsaw here becomes not a backdrop but a full participant in the story - a city that can hide anonymity while at the same time painfully expose it.
This is a story about intimacy exposed to others' gazes, about the need to be noticed and the struggle for one’s subjectivity. “Snake Charming on Hot Evenings” is a tale in which desires and needs clash with expectations - brutal and real.
The book by Małgorzata Żarów, published by CZARNY and adapted for the play, received the Gdynia Literary Award 2023 and was also nominated for the Warsaw City Literary Award, the Conrad Award, the Nike Literary Award and the Premio Grand Continent.
