About the project: - “Flying Body Art Theater 2025 – Wola” is a project co-financed by the Wola District Office of the City of Warsaw. - As part of this cycle, the Body Art Foundation takes theater beyond the stage – to parks, gardens, and urban nooks, where the youngest and their guardians can experience art up close, in motion, and in nature. Nature-inspired theatrical walk | How to talk about nature in a way that is interesting, substantive, and yet truthful? How to inspire and model an attitude full of respect and awareness that we are not the most important species on Earth? How to show the complexity of ecosystems and invite wise, passionate experts to the discussion? This is precisely why the character Botaniczka Chwastynatka was created – a self-taught, eternally curious seeker of knowledge about plants. She is a passionate enthusiast who shares her observations about the world around us with enthusiasm, asking questions and seeking new perspectives. She is often accompanied by representatives from the world of flora and fauna – our theatrical characters from the Body Art Theater performances. “Nature-inspired Theatrical Walks” is a proposal to combine cultural education with the promotion of spending free time in nature. One of our main goals is to make local nature visible to residents – which is why we choose an unusual, performative form that is close to us. We want to propose an alternative form of ecological education, which (according to reports from the Ministry of Environmental Protection) often relates to human actions: waste segregation, water conservation, and to a lesser extent, building a bond with the plants and nature surrounding us. During the approximately one-hour meeting, we will invite participants of the Walk to take part in short activities based on movement theater, pantomime, and other types of art (depending on the facilitators), but above all, to learn about specific plant species that make up the local flora, their properties, stories, and legends associated with them.
