    About the event

13 Unusual Stories. A Walk through Saska Kępa

Join a noon walk through Saska Kępa — a green island in the center of Warsaw (already wearing its autumn colors). We will stroll the charming streets of Kępa, view places with extraordinary histories, pause before prewar villas hidden in old trees, and learn the secrets behind their beautiful facades.

During the walk we will learn, among other things:

    • why Saska Kępa was called Holland
    • where the Ice Warrior lived
    • who drilled a hole in the stomachs of party members
    • who wrote "nobleman" in the "occupation" column
    • who defeated Melchior Wańkowicz
    • where there was a gate to freedom
    • who has a monument in Geneva
    • whose mother was a lady-in-waiting at the tsar's court
    • where the ship is
    • who pretended to be a disinfecting official
    • who drank with master Picasso
    • how best to photograph the fish
    • what was done at night on Zakopiańska

    Start: 8.02 (Sunday), 12:00
Meeting point: Francuska St. 49 (by Warsaw's Washington Roundabout)
End: Zwycięzców 7/9 (Bolesław Prus High School)

The walk will be led by KASIA — a licensed Warsaw guide and blogger.

    Tel. 505 023 782

Participation in the walk is free, but a tip after the walk will be welcome.

We gently remind you that we put a great deal of substantive and documentary work into preparing the walk so it is as attractive as possible for you.
