Classes / Sunday / 21.12 / 12:30-15:30 📝 Registration via the portal: https://www.strefazajec.pl/course/view/id/83143 10 days before the event Open dance workshops aimed at queer individuals, creating a space for shared movement and integration. In a safe atmosphere, participants will be able to work on their musicality and connection in pairs. They will learn how to start, lead or follow in dance, and how to finish. Lindy hop, as a social dance performed in pairs and focused on improvisation, offers great opportunities for making new connections and finding space for self-expression. After the classes, participants will be ready to join a swing dance party. The workshops will consist of: - a warm-up to swing music, led by the instructor's voice, exploring swing rhythms - an introductory circle - pair exercises in the 'everybody leads, everybody follows' formula - working on proper connection and partner awareness - learning a few simple figures in 6- and 8-count rhythms, in open and closed positions, and endings - free dancing in pairs The classes will be led by Jagoda and Kalina. Jagoda Szmytkowska (she/her/any) She started dancing as a cheerleader in a local fitness club, then tried modern jazz, Polish traditional dances, and finally swing dances. She has been dancing lindy hop for three years and values its social character, connection with a partner, and fun. She also enjoys dance experiments, performance, and rose jam. Kalina Kibalska (she/her) Previously danced a lot: oberks, polkas, blues, contemporary dance, and a bit of many other things. She started dancing to swing music while wearing a mask. In dance, she most enjoys not thinking, a sense of freedom, and finding attention for herself and her partner, and least likes constraint and focus on body aesthetics. She is inspired by nature and relationships with others. 🚗 Getting there: - Nearest stop: Rydygiera (buses) – about 2 min walk, or Plac Grunwaldzki (trams, buses) about 4 min walk - Flat access, sidewalk, straight road with fine gravel before CLŻ - Parking spaces available along Rydygiera St., including a spot for people with disabilities - The Centrum Lokalne Żoliborz building has a ToTuPoint marker ♿ Accessibility: - CLŻ has a toilet for people with disabilities - Indoor spaces at CLŻ are threshold-free, sensory-friendly - Noise-canceling headphones available on site Details of accessibility in the Accessibility Declaration: https://zoliborskidomkultury.pl/deklaracja-dostepnosci 🏢 Location: Centrum Lokalne Żoliborz - Żoliborski Dom Kultury Rydygiera 6B 📞 Contact: centrumlokalne@zoliborskidomkultury.pl 517 161 789 All events at CLŻ are free of charge.
