The art of storytelling, whose power has enchanted listeners for centuries, becomes a valuable tool in the hands of educators. How can its magic be restored in daily work with children and youth? This question will be answered by the trainer leading the workshop for cultural and educational staff titled "From Storyteller to Narrator: Storytelling Art Workshops," which will take place this fall at the library on Gawędziarzy Street 8. The workshops consist of a series of three 2.5-hour meetings, during which participants will have the chance to delve into the secrets of oral storytelling under the guidance of an expert. The sessions, led by Szymon Góralczyk-Armatowski from the Caravan of Stories group, aim to equip participants with practical skills. The storyteller's craft will be presented, including storytelling techniques, stage techniques, and methods for transforming written texts into spoken language. The trainer will demonstrate how to use voice, gestures, and facial expressions to bring characters and places to life, engaging the listeners' imagination. The main goal of the workshops is to encourage the inclusion of storytelling art in daily work with books. Telling stories to children and jointly creating stories inspired by readings can become a powerful tool for fostering a passion for reading and developing creativity. This is a unique opportunity to acquire skills that will enrich the work of every teacher, animator, and librarian. 📅 The sessions will take place on September 24, October 1, and October 8 at 1:00 PM in the auditorium of the Jan Paweł II Public Library in Rembertów. 💡 Participation in the training is free, but due to a limited number of spots, registration is required via email: [email protected]. Confirmation of registration will be sent in a reply message. Participation in the workshops will be confirmed with a certificate. The project is funded by the capital city of Warsaw.
