Portraits of trees
At this exhibition I will show, among other works, the newest paintings never before exhibited; it is a study of a single tree — the pre-war pear of Panna. I am sentimentally attached to this tree, I have known it since my childhood and painted it many times. But there will also be other trees at the exhibition — we will look into the depths of a beech-fir forest.
Exceptions prove the rule — the exhibition will not consist solely of trees.
Paweł Cabanowski was born in 1964 in Warsaw. He studied at the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Diploma in 1990 in the studio of Prof. J. Tarasin, with an annex in sculpture in the studio of Prof. A. Myjak. He practices easel painting and often uses watercolors. He has participated in many group and solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are in private collections around the world. In painting he is most interested in landscape, particularly wild nature. He builds paintings with color, as he believes that color is the most important element in painting.
For years he has taught painting at the Public Art Center named after Jan Skotnicki in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. He runs “Friday watercolor meetings” at the Adam Chełmoński Manor in Adamowizna. He was awarded the honorary badge “Meritorious for Polish Culture” and was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in 2018.
