The meeting will be translated into Polish Sign Language. We warmly invite you to a webinar dedicated to institutional practices in the area of accessibility for Caregivers of People with Disabilities. During the meeting, we will present selected experiences, case studies, and recommendations developed based on the project "Own Rooms," implemented at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw. This webinar is for you if: - you work in a cultural institution and want to develop offerings accessible to people with special needs. - you are an accessibility coordinator. - you are an educator, cultural animator working with people with disabilities or families. - you are interested in topics related to caregiving, care, and concern. - you advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and their caregivers. - you have caregiving experience. - you want to initiate accessible activities for Caregivers and are wondering how to start and what to prepare for. - you are a personal assistant. - you are interested in contemporary art and what can happen at the intersection of art, education, and social engagement. The goal of the meeting is to share knowledge and experience and inspire the design of similar activities that meet the needs of audiences and the capabilities of various cultural institutions. Accessibility for Caregivers of Children and Adults with Disabilities is a new area of accessibility that has been consistently developed at Zachęta since 2024 thanks to collaboration with expert partner organizations. The webinar will be led by project coordinators: Pamela Bożek and Emilia Rudzka – Zachęta's accessibility coordinator, who will discuss: - the pilot stage and preparations for implementation. - needs assessment. - available tools and practices. - recruitment and building a stable group of participants. - personal assistance in a cultural institution. - formalities. - challenges and mistakes to avoid. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and establish contacts that can support the creation of your own initiatives. We encourage you to report your needs at least three days before the webinar to the accessibility coordinator: Emilia Rudzka [email protected]; tel. 887 036 195 (contact via SMS and video call in PJM available). Project partners are: Mudita Association, SCOLAR Foundation, and For Giants Foundation. Event patrons are: Caregivers' Plenum and Creative Mothers. Funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund.
