Orsolya, a bailiff, is handling the case of Ion – a former athlete who, after life’s failures, has fallen into alcoholism and homelessness. He is temporarily living in the basement of an old tenement house, but even from there he must move out – a luxury hotel Kontinental is to be built in this place. The eviction carried out by Orsolya ends tragically. The woman begins to struggle with guilt and questions about the boundaries of human responsibility in a world dominated by inequality and economic pressure. Radu Jude, with his characteristic irony and dark humor, depicts the contemporary housing crisis resulting from aggressive capitalism. In the background, themes of nationalism and social divisions also appear. The film was shot in just 10 days, entirely using an iPhone – which gives it a unique, raw realism.
