We’ve known each other forever…wait, wait…do we really know each other? “My Version of the Truth” is a dramedy about four siblings who meet in their father’s apartment on the day of his funeral to sort through mementos and decide what to do with the inheritance. Meanwhile, they discover the apartment has been completely ransacked. The situation is all the stranger because there are no signs of forced entry, and nothing valuable is missing. What was the intruder looking for? And did they find it? The meeting turns into a meticulous investigation, unexpectedly unleashing extreme emotions, reviving old animosities and difficult memories. Family secrets come to light. According to the Harvard Study of Adult Development, close relationships—both family and social—are key to our well-being and health, happiness, and longevity. Although most of us declare that family is important, even the most important, more and more people experience loneliness, even among family or friends. Why? This performance is a moving yet humorous story about the power of communication and the need for openness in relationships with family, friends, and everyone around us, no matter where we are in life. The creators invite us to reflect on how our everyday gestures and words affect the world around us. They don’t limit themselves to a story about family, but address the broader topic of human relationships. They ask universal questions: what makes us drift apart? Why do we destroy bonds? Can we find the courage and strength to rebuild them, even if it seems too late? CAST: JOANNA - Magdalena Lamparska SARA – Zofia Jastrzębska CZAREK – Maciej Zakościelny KACPER – Ignacy Jan Liss MR.
