FORGETFULNESS a play created in co-production by Warsaw's Garnizon Sztuki Theatre and the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Łódź. Popular and repeatedly awarded. An actor. A successful man. A celebrity. With a beautiful wife and an orderly life. An ordinary, casual dinner with the Ex and her new boyfriend can't possibly change that! Or can it? We invite you to a subversive, full of witty dialogues tragicomedy by the trendiest contemporary Polish playwright: Marek Modzelewski. It is a surprising, suspenseful story about human relationships, trust, and the reckoning that life will present to everyone sooner or later. Can you SETTLE THE PAST? Innocent memories and reflections on a former life will open unhealed wounds that hurt even after many years – even if we are not entirely sure whether those memories are true. Because what really is memory? It is the ability to store our memories, events from our lives, people, things in the brain. Remembering is a whole range of actions that we consciously or unconsciously trigger. Sometimes, when recalling something from memory, we confuse facts with our fantasies or reinterpret events to protect our emotions. Sometimes we suppress information we don't want to remember because it is painful for us. The past will return with such a strong accent that the current lives of our heroes will turn out to be a fragile and easily destroyed construction. And emotions will certainly not be lacking throughout the performance.
