    About the event

Behind the circus’s colorful curtain lies a life far from a fairytale. "Marianna the Circus Performer" by Anna Fryczkowska tells the true story of Marianna Razik, a legendary circus artist and folk painter. It is the story of a woman who spent her whole childhood on the road, learning about the world from backstage. This is a book about art born from experience, about strength of character and the price paid for freedom.

If you feel like reading something that presents an extraordinary life in plain, honest language, pick up this novel. Then come to the Book Discussion Club meeting — this story practically begs for conversation. We'll share our thoughts, as always with aromatic tea and sweet treats. Free admission.

Familiarity with the book is not required, but it will make active participation easier.
