What happens in our bodies when rhythm takes control? How does rave move the body from within, regulate the nervous system, awaken the senses, and ignite collective imagination? 📅 September 28, 12:00-14:00 📍 Square in front of the theater Host: Angelika Mizinska Free tickets available for download (in August) The workshop is an invitation to explore your own rave experience through a somatic approach to working with the body – deepening sensory and bodily awareness in trance movement practices inspired by rave culture. We will look at bodily experiences from the perspective of anatomy and biology – treating the body both as a complex, living organism and as part of larger communal, ecological, and interspecies systems. We will treat rave as a contemporary ritual of tuning – to other people, to sound, to space, to the more-than-human world. The rave community will become for us a practice of synchronization and resonance – like a flock of birds flying in formation, a swarm of bees, or a school of fish. Through movement, breath, and somatic attention, we will explore: - the senses as ways of communicating with the world and channels for regulating the nervous system, - anatomical systems (nervous, sensory, fascial) activated in collective movement, - the communal body – resonance between bodies emerging in rhythm and presence, - interspecies perception – listening to what is more-than-human: sound traveling through matter, microorganisms co-creating our bodies, air moving through and around us. The practice will be based on somatic tools, Body-Mind Centering, movement, and improvisational dance. Free tickets will be available in August. The project is funded by the capital city of Warsaw as part of the cultural institution fund.
