The first daytime contact improvisation jam of this season turned out to be a bit of a dream jam. Maybe it was because of the time, maybe the room, maybe the shared meditation, maybe the silence, and probably a bit of everything, especially the people who each brought their own portion of focus and a little extra. So we probably don't need to explain why we're already looking forward to the next one. It will take place on the Sunday after All Souls' Day, November 2nd. It can be an opportunity to dance with a special theme or intention, but it can also simply be an experience of mindful group practice. You're welcome! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ We see jams as events with potentially infinite shades and courses. We want those that will take place on Sunday mornings (mostly) to be primarily improvisational and experimental in nature, focused on dance. Experience in contact improvisation is not required, but recommended, as these jams will not include a workshop element. STRUCTURE - We start with a circle, followed by a short, meditative introduction to the practice. - You can join the jam until 11:15 am. After that, the doors will be closed. - We end the jams with a closing circle. If someone needs to leave earlier, that's of course possible. MUSIC/SOUNDS We are aware of the importance of this element, so we have established the rule that during jams we do not talk in the dance space and pay attention to the sounds we make, remembering that they do not remain without impact on others. Music will appear from time to time, but most of the time will be spent in silence. Forms of participation - There is no single correct way to participate in the jam. We encourage you to experiment based on what you need and what interests you. - You can improvise solo, in contact, watch from the side, sleep, or write. There will be space for all of this at these jams. DISCUSSIONS Selected Sunday jams will be preceded by moderated conversations on various aspects of the practice. We will keep you informed about the details, but you can already note the date of the first one - December 7th. ✨ FEE You reserve your spot at the jam by making a prepayment on the Sytuacje website.
