About the event

Gutek Film is a distributor that brings films by directors such as Jim Jarmusch, Terry Gilliam, Pedro Almodóvar and Mike Mills to Polish audiences (including viewers of Warsaw’s Kino Muranów).

We invite you to a series of film screenings from the Gutek Film catalogue. The common, though loosely interpreted, theme of the screenings is the experience of a mental health crisis.

Screenings with aromatic coffee, tea and dessert. Every purchase in our café (coffee, tea, cake or dessert of the day) supports Apteka Sztuki and helps organize future cultural events.

Free admission. The event is completely FREE!

Price list (café):
8–9 zł for coffee, 8 zł for tea. Cakes and the dessert of the day — priced according to the café menu.

Series schedule (descriptive fragments authored by Gutek Film):

  • 📅 18.02 at 18:00 — al. Wyzwolenia 3/5 — C'mon C'mon, dir. Mike Mills (110 min) The great return of Mike Mills and a spectacular comeback for Joaquin Phoenix, who in C'mon C'mon plays a role that redefines his image. Phoenix plays a New York single, a warm journalist who travels across America with a microphone, asking children and young people about life, dreams and plans. Along the way he visits his sister living in Los Angeles (Gaby Hoffman), with whom he hasn’t spoken for years and who now needs his help.
  • 📅 25.02 at 18:00 — al. Wyzwolenia 3/5 — The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, dir. Terry Gilliam (132 min) After 25 years of trying to make the project, Terry Gilliam presents a crazy comedy about an advertising director (Adam Driver) who ends up in a Spanish village where one of the residents (Jonathan Pryce) believes he is Don Quixote. A series of mad adventures will allow the characters to reassess their lives and realize seemingly impossible dreams.
  • 📅 04.03 at 18:00 — al. Wyzwolenia 3/5 — Perfect Days, dir. Wim Wenders (123 min) A meditation on the simplicity and beauty of life. Wenders tells the story of a Japanese everyman whose days are filled with daily rituals. Starring Kōji Yakusho, awarded at Cannes.
  • 📅 11.03 at 18:00 — al. Wyzwolenia 3/5 — Arab Blues, dir. Manele Labidi (88 min) The story of Selma — an independent psychoanalyst who, with humor and courage, confronts a conservative reality. The film shows struggles with identity and social expectations and the right to be oneself.
