Kraków: embroidering dachshunds: embroidery workshop - filling stitches
About the event
I invite you to an unusual embroidery workshop!
We will learn various kinds of filling stitches while embroidering on fabrics with dachshunds. We'll treat embroidery like coloring — instead of crayons and markers, we'll use needles and threads.
You will get lots of practical tips and learn 5–6 versatile stitches that will allow you to fill any shape with embroidery afterward.
Besides learning stitches, I also care about conversation and meeting: meeting you with me, participants with each other, your hand with your head, thread with fabric. We'll chat like in a city housewives' circle.
The result of our work will be an embroidered hoop with dachshunds that you can hang on the wall or give to someone close.
For whom:
- For everyone – from beginners to those who want to refresh their embroidery knowledge and have a pleasant time.
- Planned number of participants: 8-10.
Who I am:
Gosia Samborska – artist-embroiderer, AI trainer, embroidery teacher. For five years a teacher of embroidery at the Złote Rączki Embroidery School founded by Monika Drożyńska; for three years she has been running workshops independently.

- Cost: 220 zł. The workshop fee includes a home embroidery kit (needle, hoop, threads, printed fabrics, magnetic frames for hanging the embroidery, protective envelope, pins).

Embroidery for me is hand yoga, a kind of moving meditation. It is also a form of contemporary activism, analog guerrilla craft. We live in a world of productivity compulsion, where efficiency and speed matter more than precision and deeper understanding. I love embroidery for its slow pace, for teaching patience and focus, which through its physicality and tangibility gives an immediate sense of agency. I believe that its subversive potential of delicacy and empathy is what we need now.
