The Society of the Library of Law Students of the Jagiellonian University invites you to the Jubilee Student Scientific Conference entitled “History, tradition, commemoration – a contemporary reflection on heritage”, which will take place on April 25, 2026.
The event is part of the celebrations of the 175th anniversary of the Society of the Library of Law Students of the Jagiellonian University, highlighting the rich history and continuous activity of the oldest student organization operating at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University since 1851.
The conference will bring together both prominent representatives of the academic world — renowned legal historians, researchers of the history of public institutions, and experts in contemporary constitutional issues — and students from across Poland. The meeting will create a space for dialogue on the significance of historical heritage in reflections on the state and law.
The conference program will include presentations devoted, among other things, to the history of law and the evolution of constitutional institutions, contemporary politics of memory, forms of commemorating events and figures important to legal culture, as well as issues related to memory conflicts in international relations.
The Jubilee conference will be not only an opportunity for scholarly reflection on the past, but also for a joint consideration of how tradition and historical memory shape contemporary understandings of law on the international stage and the responsibility of the legal community toward a changing world.
