Fargo is a masterful blend of black comedy and thriller, praised for its precise screenplay and Roger Deakins' outstanding cinematography. The film, which with ironic distance tells about greed, violence and provincial America, remains one of the most important titles of contemporary cinema.

Winner of two Oscars — for Best Original Screenplay and for Frances McDormand for Best Actress.

Description of the film: When a small car dealer from Minnesota, Jerry Lundegaard, arranges the kidnapping of his own wife, the seemingly simple plan quickly spirals out of control. A series of tragic and absurd events leads to an investigation by Marge Gunderson — an exceptionally cheerful, heavily pregnant chief of the local police.
