Klancyk returns to the Large Stage of Teatr Komedia in a warmly received format of improvised performances inspired by conversations with special guests. The “Klancyk and…” series is a hybrid of a lighthearted author talk and absurd scenes performed by the country’s most experienced (if not oldest...) team of improvisers. This season Klancyk invited people who aren’t afraid of silly questions about their fields (including film, music, journalism, food, literature, or language). They also know that anything they say can be transformed by Klancyk’s unpredictable imagination.
You may ask (and they did ask): where did the idea for this duo come from? We answer: Poland, like never before, needs bridge-building; focusing on what unites us rather than divides. Makselon and Kempa share a lot. Both are athletic (Maciej does pull-ups, Michał rides a bike). Neither is from Warsaw (Maciej is from Knurów, Michał from Bielsko-Biała). One edited the other’s book. And most importantly, we have phone numbers for both. We may be in for a meeting full of awkward pauses, which leaves more room for Klancyk’s improvisation.
