Collegium Nobilium Theatre, November 29, 2025, 12:30 PM Acting is one of the most ephemeral phenomena of theatrical art – it exists here and now, in the body, voice, gesture, in direct contact with the audience. Although it is absolutely crucial to the experience of a performance, it remains surprisingly poorly described. Reviews and theatrical analyses often lack space (and language) for an in-depth description of acting roles. Why is this the case? Does contemporary theatre pose new challenges for theatre studies in describing acting? How are acting techniques changing and how should we write about them? Guests: Prof. Krystyna Duniec, Prof. Beata Guczalska; moderator: Dr. Paweł Sztarbowski - Screening of the documentary film "Agnieszka… Morawińska, what are you doing here?", dir. Joanna Fedorowicz, Małgorzata Piwowar (2024) Collegium Nobilium Theatre, November 29, 2025, 1:40 PM (duration: 70 minutes) The documentary presents the biography of Agnieszka Morawińska, one of the most important figures in contemporary Polish culture, associated with Theatre Studies in the early years of the Faculty's existence. Through her biography, the filmmakers seek to show how the accepted model of assigned social roles excluded and limited women's paths of development, and also – quoting Agnieszka Morawińska herself – how, despite this, they left their mark on the world of culture and museology.
