Girls! Join us for Social Dancing — practical dances for every occasion. You don’t need a partner; there are more men in class, so you’ll definitely have people to dance with.

Social dances are built to fit most songs played at weddings, parties and clubs. They’re the foundation for moving to music and leading or following a partner. They’re intuitive and easy to apply in different dancing situations.

Main styles in class:

• Disco samba — a basic, intuitive social dance based on a side step; many people dance it at parties without realizing it.
• Modern Jive — a dynamic social dance danced to pop, R&B or swing; simple figures and room for personal style.
• Disco fox — the basic step gives a rocking/swaying character; it works with slower and faster tracks.

Additionally basics:

• Salsa on 1 — an energetic dance from Cuba; useful at Latin-themed parties.

Ballroom dances will also appear in class:

• Cha-cha
• rumba
• jive
• waltz (English)
• tango
• Viennese waltz

Ballroom dances split into Latin (energetic, passionate) and Standard (elegance and fluidity). In Social Dancing we teach lead 'n' follow — leading the partner and responding to the lead (we don’t teach fixed choreographies, but figures and connections couples can use on the dance floor).
