The EuroJAZZ Foundation and PROM Kultury Saska Kępa invite you to a concert celebrating the 15th anniversary of JazzPRESS magazine!
Horntet is a democratic jazz collective made up of some of the most promising young Polish jazz musicians. Nominated for the Fryderyk 2024 award, winners of almost all jazz competitions in Poland (including Jazz nad Odrą 2022, Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa 2022), holders of 2nd place at the prestigious European Young Artists’ Jazz Award in Burghausen 2024, and repeatedly praised by critics and music journalists at home and abroad.
Since 2019, when the group was founded at the initiative of pianist Bartłomiej Leśniak, the musicians have been steadily developing their own recognizable collective style based on original compositions that mix mainstream, free music, and contemporary classical music while preserving a Slavic denominator that continues the tradition known as Polish Jazz. In 2023 the band released their debut album titled “Horntet” (Jazz Top 2023 – 4th place in the Album of the Year category according to Jazz Forum readers).
At the concert Horntet will premiere pieces from their second album “Direct Message”, which will be released in mid-September by For Tune. It is a cohesive, mature program full of energy and even more representative of the band's character. “Direct Message” is a very concrete statement – a direct message that Horntet addresses to each listener with full awareness of what they want to say.
