On the occasion of the upcoming National Independence Day, the Przystanki Historia IPN Office invites you to the Independence Walk at Bródnowski Cemetery. This is another edition of the open historical walk through one of Warsaw's most important necropolises. Participants will learn about the history of Bródnowski Cemetery and its temples, and then visit the graves of the Fathers of Independence: - Roman Dmowski - Archbishop Aleksander Kakowski and many other people distinguished in Polish history, culture, science, or sports: - Lesław Bartelski - Stanisław Biedrzycki - Wacław Bojarski - Franciszek Brodniewicz - Henryk Jerzy Chmielewski "Papcio Chmiel" - Lieutenant Colonel Jerzy Emir-Hassan - Mieczysław Fogg - Wanda Lankajtes - Wanda Lurie - Jerzy "Duduś" Matuszkiewicz - Waldemar Marszałek - Ludmiła Niedbalska - Wanda Opęchowska - Ryszard Ordyński - Maria and Kazimierz Piechotka - Stanisław Antoni Prószyński - Łucja Prus - Seweryna Szmaglewska During the walk, you will also reach the graves of distinguished and often forgotten families of 19th-century right-bank Warsaw, local heroes of independence uprisings, and the most famous monuments located in the cemetery.
