When human memory fades... I invite you for a sentimental walk through one of Warsaw's oldest cemeteries – Stare Powązki. This magical place is full of historic tombstones and is the resting place of the most outstanding Poles. During the walk, we will recall the figures who shaped the city's history. 🗓️ We meet on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM in front of the 2nd gate – St. Honorata, Powązkowska 1. The walk is planned to last about 90 minutes. You will learn: - Which important figure lies at the entrance to the cemetery? - Where is Warsaw's first meteorologist buried? - Who was called the Polish Marilyn Monroe? - Who and how tricked Bolesław Bierut? - Where does the royal architect rest? - Where are the founders of the cemetery buried? - Which grave was the most visited at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries? - Where are the parents, teachers, and student of Fryderyk Chopin buried? - Who do we owe the "Cheap Railway Lines" to? - Who was the "iron florist"? - Why is there a "Plastuś" on one of the graves? - What is a cannon doing in the cemetery? - Who wasn't afraid to oppose Stalin himself? - and many more... 💸 There is no fee for participating in the walk, but if you feel the guide deserves a tip, it will be appreciated. The walk will be led by a city guide from Warszawski Zaułek. You are warmly invited and see you there.
