We invite you to a special author meeting with Andrzej Krawczyk devoted to his latest book “You Can Still Hear That Music. Biłgoraj - a Lost Shtetl”. Biłgoraj, through the work of Isaac Bashevis Singer, became a global symbol of the shtetl. In his work, however, Andrzej Krawczyk goes one step further — he pierces literary myths to show the real, everyday experience of the town’s Jewish residents. It’s a fascinating lesson in microhistory that helps understand the fate of the community that for centuries shaped the identity of our region. Come and find out what lies beneath the layer of symbols.
