After assuming a false identity, she decides to go to the court of the island's ruler, Duke Orsino, who is madly in love with his neighbor, Countess Olivia. The characters become entangled in a strange and surprising love triangle, and their fates intertwine with the intrigues of Olivia and Orsino's court—Sir Toby and Sir Andrew, maid Maria, and courtier Fabian—against the countess's right hand, the villainous Malvolio. The story is completed by the Fool characters, who aptly highlight the complexity of the plot, and the excited Maids and Gallants, i.e., the courtiers of Duke Orsino and Countess Olivia. What turn will events take, and what will change with the sudden appearance of Sebastian, Viola's lost brother, along with his companion Antonio? Will the tangled love triangle be resolved without broken hearts and spines? And will the game of role-playing and intrigue not carry our heroes beyond the bounds of decency?
