Our February reading is a collection of stories by last year’s Nobel Prize in Literature winner — László Krasznahorkai, an outstanding Hungarian writer.
"A világ trwa" (Hungarian: "Megy a világ") consists of twenty-one tales that focus on the search for meaning in a chaotic and spiritually lost world. The protagonists are often outsiders, wanderers and eccentrics confronting the absurdity of existence. The author addresses the human condition, loneliness and the inevitability of a catastrophe that, in his view, has already occurred on a spiritual level. Krasznahorkai’s characteristic prose features long, hypnotic sentences and monologues that convey the inner rhythm of the characters’ thoughts.
Read, come, bring friends. 📅 See you at WineTu on February 25!
